There are a handful of certifications that probably would put you in this realm: ODBA-type work on *nix and the Caché database (unlikely because I feel this is a full time job in itself), client deployment and the like (unlikely because this usually is paired with being a Citrix/VDI admin role), or more likely you're looking at a role where you deal with a lot of IIS and application service management stuff through a proprietary management framework (Windows admin-type tasks since all these services run on Windows Server).

I know Epic is the backbone of a lot of medical offices. I am not aware of a specific position called Epic System Administrator, but I would imagine you would be put in a similar position as I where you have access to the infrastructure side of things (standing up servers/maintenance/AD management/storage) and get to plug all the Epic services in to it. Anyone in healthcare and deal with Epic Been looking at healthcare positions and a lot of them mention having or obtaining an Epic certification within 1 yr of hire. I am on a smallish team where a lot of colleagues will default send tasks my way if it has anything to do with Epic services (even if a system is experiencing basic system issues I will get thrown the task because it hosts Epic stuff). hospitals 2 and all of the nation’s top-20 hospitals use Epic. Personally I struggle juggling with what I consider core sysadmin tasks (working on infrastructure, automating processes, maintaining my skill set and other certifications) and effectively managing the Epic side of stuff. I don't have a lot of experience with other EMR's because our organization moved to Epic shortly after I was hired, and I was basically put on the Epic project team right away.
